Fight To Win 137
With so much going on in the world and a constantly full schedule of professional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Fight To Win 137 is sure to keep the streak going. Fight To Win 137 taking place in Denver, CO is set to be live on Flograppling tonight 3/6/2020. This card has some of the highest talents at the heavier weight classes but still sprinkled in a little lightweight stardom to keep the spread even. One of tonights matches is a very important set up only 1 week away from a major tournament, the IBJJF Pans.
Tonight's main event will feature a top 5 medium-heavy match between Lucas "The Hulk" Barbosa and Undefeated Black Belt Roberto Jimenez. It is certainly safe to say that this will be a highlight considering both of these athletes push the energy output. Roberto is known for his heavy emphasis on back takes and fast-paced passing with added submissions. Roberto is 8-0 in his black belt career with 6 of those being by submission. Recently obtaining wins over Keenan Cornelius, Felipe Andrew, and Dan Martinez. Roberto's adversary Lucas Barbosa will be no light task to achieve a win over though. A seasoned competitor is an understatement for Lucas, who has 180+ fights at black belt. "The Hulk" has a well-rounded style with a relentless grind of pressure. Training at the likes of ATOS HQ you know he will have his cardio in check for this match.
The co-main event comes in with another Jiu-Jitsu spectacle. The fight for the Welterweight Black Belt Title will be Marcio Andre versus Michael Liera Jr. Both fighters will be making an early start to their competition year in 2020. Michael Liera Jr. is coming fresh off an RNC win on a previous Fight To Win card this year. Marcio Andre is looking to redeem himself after suffering a referee decision loss to AOJ standout Jonatha Alves. With Pans next week and Worlds on the horizon, both of these Welterweights will be looking to secure a submission and title win to start the year.
The undercard matches are looking as entertaining as any other Fight To Win card but one stands out in particular. In another medium-heavy match, it will be Jake Watson versus Rudson Matheus. In the recent year, Rudson has submission wins over Adam Wardzinski, Jonnatas Gracie, and Gutemberg Pereira. His closed guard techniques which force his opponent into many armbar attacks works quite well. With his coach being Caio Terra it is not surprising his basics are fundamentally sound. Jake Watson is a recently new black belt (as Rudson) with a record of 22 wins and 5 losses. A secured referee decision victory against Ronaldo Jr of the ATOS team lead him to this match. He earned many Flograppling awards and won 2nd at the No-Gi Pan Ams in 2019. Who do you guys have going into this one?
