Fight 2 Win 136 Goes Down Tomorrow
Yet another stacked Fight 2 Win card is ready to go tomorrow in San Diego, California. The promotion which is known for their active schedule and awesome super fights is set for yet another great card. Let’s take a look at some of the featured matchups on the card this weekend:
Kristian Woodmansee takes on Ron Henderson for the 125lb Black Belt Gi title. Kristian is one of the many Atos athletes on the card and is an active competitor in the rooster weight division. Ron will be representing Checkmat and stays busy fighting MMA most recently for Bellator
Adam Mazin will meet Wilson Reis (Alliance) in 140lb Black Belt No-Gi match. Reis is a former UFC fighter who challenged for a Flyweight title against Demetrius Johnson in 2017. In recent years, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt has returned to his roots being active on the grappling competition scene.
Sergio Rios faces off with Eric Uresk. Rios recently took home double gold at European Championship in the Masters one division. Rios is a long time black belt who has also fought MMA but, refocused on Jiu-Jitsu competition in recent years.
In a 145lb Black Belt GI matchup, Baret Yoshida is set to meet Kory Paredes. Yoshida’s unique style in fighting spirit makes him a fan favorite. He holds medals at many important events including the No-Gi World Championship and ADCC World Championship
Atos stand out Michael Liera jr squares off with the veteran Piter Frank from the Alliance team. Liera has been a stand out through all the belt levels. Since reaching the Black Belt level, Liera has been at the top of the lightweight and middleweight divisions. Frank is an experienced Judo and Jiu-Jitsu competitor who reached the Black Belt in 2016.
In a match that has to be highlighted as a potential Fight of The Night, Recent No-Gi World Champion Johnny Tama steps in to meet Edwin Najmi. Both of these competitors are natural submission hunters always working towards the finish. Najmi is known for is crowd-pleasing flying attacks while Tama uses attacks from the guard along with a nasty footlock game.
The co-main event is a 135lb Black Belt Gi Title match with Gabbi McComb and Jena Bishop. McComb is an active competitor representing the highly decorated female Gracie Humaita team Bishop is another veteran at the black belt level who holds many medals from all of the major events.
In the main event, Vinicius “Tractor” Ferriera will square off with Kaynan Duarte for the Black Belt Heavyweight No-Gi Crown. Both are coming off the best years of their respective careers with each looking to continue the momentum in the coming year. Kaynan most recently won the ADCC World Championship in the 99KG division while Tractor took home 2nd place in the +99KG division The two competed last year in the Gi at the Brazilian Nationals, Tractor walked away with the decision victory
